2021 Awards and Regulations

CURRENT AWARDS : 2021-2022 Academic School Year

Due to these unprecedented times and our commitment to health and safety, we are offering a revised award program for our Registrants in encouraging commitment to education. 

For the 2021-2022 academic school year only, the Perfect Attendance Foundation will accept an attestation from the caregiver declaring the attendance of their Registrant, in place of submitting an attendance report from the school. An attestation form will be sent out to you to sign when it is time to evaluate the awards. You can view a sample attestation form here.

A digital image confirming the Registrant’s enrollment information in school (photo or screen capture of student name and school) must be emailed to Perfect Attendance prior to our award evaluation period occurring in the middle and end of the school year.

Semper Praesens (Latin for ‘Always Present’)

recognition: for perfect attendance throughout the academic year

Semper Praesens – Semestris (Latin for ‘Always Present – school term’)

recognition: for perfect attendance throughout the first half/semester or last half/semester of the academic year.

  • Student receives $20 gift certificate at one of the following stores:

    • MasterMind Toys
    • Cadillac Fairview Shopping Mall
    • Cineplex
  • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) receive a Recognition Award of Merit Certificate

Praesens Amplius (Latin for ‘Present To A Greater Degree’) Not Available for 2021-2022

recognition: for significant improvement in attendance throughout the academic year from the previous academic year, defined by a Registrant reducing the number of tardies and absences in the previous academic year by 80% rounded to the nearest half day.

  • Student receives $25 gift certificate (for $35-year total!) at one of the following stores:
    • Chapters Indigo Bookstore
    • Toys “R” Us
    • MasterMind Toys
    • Cadillac Fairview Shopping Mall
    • Cineplex
  • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) receive a Recognition Award of Merit Certificate

Praesens Amplius – Semestris (Latin for ‘Present To A Greater Degree – school term’)

recognition: for significant improvement in attendance throughout the second half or final term from the first half or previous term of the same academic year, defined by a Registrant reducing the number of tardies and absences in the previous academic term by 80% rounded to the nearest half day.

  • Student receives $10 gift certificate at one of the following stores:

  • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) receive a Recognition Award of Merit Certificate

Significanter Praesens (Latin for ‘Substantially Present’)

recognition: For substantial attendance throughout the academic year, defined by a Registrant not missing more than 1% attendance in tardies and absences, rounded to the nearest half day. Tardies count for half an absence.

  • Student receives $10 gift certificate (for $15-year total!) at one of the following stores:

  • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) receive a Recognition Award of Merit Certificate

Significanter Praesens – Semestris (Latin for ‘Substantially Present – school term’)

GENERAL REGULATIONS : 2020-2021 Academic School Year

  1. Calgary Registration for the 2021 – 2022 academic school year will be available to Grades 2 through 6 students attending a school within the City of Calgary, Alberta and registered with the Provincial government excluding Home Education.
  2. Participating students must attend schools with established and absolute means of recording student attendance, with a record made available to the Parent(s) or Guardian(s).
  3. School administration and staff must have the means to dismiss a student that poses a health or safety risk to themselves or others in attendance.
  4. Parent(s) or Guardian(s) are required to register and submit the verification and attestation of attendance within the provided deadlines.
  5. ‘Excused absences’, ‘sick leaves’, etc. do not constitute attendance as determined by the educational institute.
  6. Awards are not cumulative; only one Award and it’s value can be achieved per academic year.
  7. Awards and General Regulations are subject to change, and will be interpreted by the Perfect Attendance Foundation.
